Meet Pastor “Freddie”
Pastor Arveda “Freddie” Kirk, an ordained Elder and Full Member of The Wisconsin Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, was appointed by Bishop Hee Soo Jung to be the pastor of Peace United Methodist Church in Kaukauna as of July 1, 2021. Pastor Freddie was retired in January of 2020, and is now appointed as a half-time interim supply pastor. She has served at Amherst/Buena Vista, Frederic St Luke’s, Lorain, Centuria Holy Trinity and Turtle Lake Parkview United Methodist Churches in Wisconsin.
Pastor Freddie is a graduate of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL with a Masters of Divinity. She has done some post-graduate work in rural church ministries at Virginia Theological Seminary.
Freddie is a native of Wisconsin, having grown up in Wild Rose. She and her husband have one son and his family that still live in Wild Rose, as well as 5 grandchildren (one who is deceased) and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pastor Freddie enjoys reading – with a current interest in bibliographies and fictional mysteries based on historical themes. She has been active in AA and Alanon for 41 years having gotten clean and sober with God’s help and grace November 28. 1980 which is very important to her. She spends a lot of her free time with her 2 dogs and 1 cat and loves to keep birds and squirrels fed in her yard.
Pastors in the United Methodist Church must have a 4 year college degree, three years of seminary, and serve 2 full years under a District Superintendent in a local church before they can become a full member and an ordained Elder in full connection.
